Jose Olmos, who, like the victim, was homeless, pleaded guilty in Westchester County Court to second-degree murder for his role in the death of Nurten Seljuk on July 27 last year. He is expected to receive a term of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on July 11.

Olmos admitted to beating Seljuk, repeatedly striking her and stomping on her chest, neck, and head. Olmos followed Seljuk “for some time” on Main Street, and when they reached the Naval Armory, Olmos robber her and beat her to death. Her body was found the following morning and Olmos was arrested.
